The Healing Power of Deep Bodywork®: Healing Neck Injuries, Opening the Chest, and Freeing the Breath.

Deep Bodywork's ability to relieve acute and chronic pain has made this healing art an indispensable tool in treating difficult conditions, such as back pain, sciatica and chronic cervical pain due to whiplash or other traumatic events in the upper body. When we mindfully release the hardening and tension in the deeper tissue layers of the body, the energy "stuck" in them is mobilized so that it can then flow to the body's own healing processes.

This seminar focuses on healing the neck from chronic and acute pain that arises due to injury and postural problems, as well as freeing the chest and ribs with the goal of strengthening the vital function of the breath. The ability to fully expand our chest with a deep, free breath is perhaps the body's most important tool for relieving the constant stress we accumulate in life. A restriction in this vital ability can lead to a collapsed rib cage, a forward leaning posture of the neck and head, and as a secondary result, chronic pain in many areas of the upper body. Our ability to cope with emotional stress can be greatly reduced when the breath is limited in its vital, healing function. Focused instruction on relevant anatomy will help participants understand how an open chest balances the shoulder girdle and provides an orderly base for the neck and head. We will delve into the structural complexity of the neck to understand why injuries in this important area are so difficult to heal and how Deep Bodywork is so effective in dealing with them.
This is advanced (advanced) bodywork seminar, so previous experience in massage and/or bodywork is recommended.

Participants will learn to:
  • Relieve acute and chronic pain in the neck.
  • Understand the relevant anatomy of the neck.
  • To understand the physical process of breathing and how we free the breath and breathing space through Deep Bodywork.
  • The importance of deep, integrated breathing for physical and emotional well-being.
