Rooms and holiday apartments

The Kiental has a lot to offer, even outside of our educational program. Forests, mountain peaks, lush meadows and the Chiene torrent, which sometimes flows quietly and sometimes plunges into the depths as a waterfall, give the valley its original charm. The rear part of the valley even belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Jungfrau-Aletsch”. The steepest post bus route in Switzerland also runs through here. It leads to Griesalp, past thundering waterfalls and through the primeval Pochten gorge. The route is in operation from June to October.

There is something to do and discover at any time of the year, whether it be high-altitude hikes, walks along the Chiene, cycling over hill and dale or winter sports activities such as sledding and skating. Besides, we ourselves also offer a wide range of activities for holiday guests, from activating to relaxing and touching.

Our main house, the Kientalerhof, is a house with history and also offers accommodation for small budgets. There are 46 friendly, rather simple rooms available here (around 120 beds in total). The gently renovated single, double and multi-bed rooms with shower/toilet or shower on the floor can be adapted to individual group needs and equipped with more or fewer beds as required. There are no televisions in the rooms so that our guests can fully concentrate on their seminar and the surroundings.

In the neighbouring ChieneHuus, which opened in 2018, we offer spacious, upscale double rooms and holiday apartments (up to four people) with simple, natural furnishings (Holz100 or clay plaster). Another type of accommodation for groups is the simple dormitory for about 10 persons in the Naturhof, about 10 minutes walk from the Kientalerhof.
