The focus of this training is to develop a way to improve your Shiatsu practice to be present and always focused through deep and authentic listening.

You will discover that the way you work is very important and makes all the difference. In the practice of Shiatsu, listening is a priority to understand what to do and how to do it.

In all styles of Shiatsu the “listening” is not only a fundamental aspect, but it could be said it’s the core of Shiatsu itself.

This continuous being in touch with “what is happening” at the receiver is one of the possible reasons why Shiatsu has proven to be highly safe for all the users, because there is a constant attention to their needs and limits.

A Shiatsu treatment is therefore composed of actions that are apparently often the same (lines meridians, stretching, hara diagnosis, transitions, kata, etc.) , but in reality each one is very different from the other, because the energetic tissue it’s never the same, it always changes.

It is possible to say that in a correct Shiatsu treatment there is a continuous “adaptation” to the stimuli and needs related to the receiver.

The work is modulated like a wave according to that person's situation at that precise moment. It is a kind of 'tuning' whereby a resonance is created between receiver and practitioner, a wave that follows the movement inherent life itself. Indeed, when there is harmony, even outside the realm of Shiatsu, it is called 'being on the same wavelength'.
So we could refer to an 'outer' visible modality (what you can see from the outside) and an 'inner' invisible modality, what you feel in the deep listening.

And it is known that 'what is essential is invisible to the eyes...'. (The Little Prince, Antoine De Saint-Exupéry ).

What is in general the biggest factor to interfere with deep listening? It is the “noise”, that can be defined as anything that interferes with our ability to attend to and understand a message.

There are many kinds of noise, but we will focus on only the three are most likely to encounter in our Shiatsu practice: physical noise, psychological noise, physiological noise and we will discover how to silence them for a better listening.
