Meditation, insight, wise communication and compassion

The Insight Dialogue practice is based on three foundations: meditative mindfulness, the wisdom teachings of the Buddha and interpersonal relationships. It has the same goals and traditional roots as Vipassana meditation: the development of mindfulness, compassion and liberating insight, while exploring the immediate experience of the present moment in dialog.

With the six meditation instructions of the Insight Dialogue according to Gregory Kramer, we will explore and cultivate Bodhicitta, the wisdom of the heart for the benefit of all beings, in this retreat. In this way we will learn to understand our mind, our heart and others more deeply. The course will take place mainly in silence, with additional Dharma talks, guided Vipassana insight and compassion meditations, dialog in dyads and practice sharing.

Six meditation guidelines form the core of the insight dialogue:
  • Pause
  • Relax
  • Open
  • Attune to Emergence
  • Listen deeply
  • Telling the truth

Bodhicitta - awakening for the benefit of all beings

Bodhicitta means “spirit of awakening” in Sanskrit. Bodhi means awakening and citta means mind or heart. In Mahayana Buddhism, the generation of bodhicitta is the wish to realize awakening not only for oneself, but with wisdom and compassion, for the benefit of all beings.
