The Rosen Method enables deep relaxation through a gentle, mindful touch that opens the door to hidden feelings and awakens a new zest for life. It helps to recognize barriers and leads to more confidence in one's own possibilities.
Course content
Originally a reaction to challenging situations and experiences, these self-protective patterns create unconscious barriers that can lead to fatigue, pain, and other symptoms, and limit access to positive states such as self-assertion, pleasure, joy, and deep connection with others. With supportive, listening touch and words that respond to subtle changes in muscle tension and breathing patterns, Rosen practitioners direct clients* awareness to their physical and emotional experiences, including accompanying thoughts and beliefs.
In a session, the practitioner looks at the client's body to discover the tense and relaxed regions. The session usually begins where it is hard and tight. The practitioner touches this area with gentle hands, sometimes pressing harder; it is not a laying on of hands. The hands stay there until there is a change, a physical reaction.
At the same time, the practitioner says what he/she sees and feels, so that the client can perceive him/herself better. General questions about the client's life can also be asked, observing how the body reacts.
