In the embryonic period the human body develops in a continuous metamorphosis of shapes and form processes. The growth gestures of the embryo can be understood as a preliminary exercise to the subsequent physiological and psychological functions.

Course content

The embryo (and thus the human being) appears as a kind of emphatic balance between antipathy and sympathy in relation to the environment and the world. This polarity appears to be essential for humans and suggests the two-unity of spirit and matter.

This phenomenological embryology helps us recognize the true human form, i.e. body shapes and functions are expressions of body and mind. Possible answers to questions like "Where do we come from?" and "What is a human being?" are sought in the human design. The view of phenomenology that is practiced here leads to a process morphology, which overcomes the limitations of the Cartesian anatomy: a true morphology of body and soul with your entire body being an expression of the human soul! Essential for every complementary therapist.

The course consists of lectures alternating with movement exercises and drawing.

Course aims

Participants will understand
  • the embryonic period in terms of the metamorphosis of forms and form processes
  • the empathic balance in the human form between antipathy and sympathy in relation to the (surrounding) world
  • the body forms and functions in their expression of body, soul and spirit
  • polarity morphology and process morphology as an extension of reductionist scientific anatomy
  • the creative principles and forces at work through the human being
  • prenatal development in terms of phenomenology
  • the gestures of growth as human behavior and expression
  • the dynamics of conception, incarnation, embodiment, and individuation
  • the dynamics of birth - where do we come from? The gesture of development
  • the organization of the human body into body directions and levels
  • the phases of embryonic development as ways of being (ways of being)
  • the connection between the macrocosm and the microcosm of the body's organization
  • the whole body as a psychosomatic principle (not only the brain)
  • the human body as a balance of polarities and as a manifestation of the Trinity (the human being is spirit, movement, matter)
  • the importance of the cotyledons in the body with the meso(derm) as the origin, especially the fascia.
  • the functional and morphological aspects of the fascia as an "organ of interiority".
