Approaching the Great Mystery of Dance

Immerse yourself in sacred dance and the mysteries it holds. Gentle physical training, aesthetics, and universal spiritual practice flow together. The interplay of form marries with the formless. Experience the vastness of your own consciousness and the gifts that dance holds in store for you. Reflecting on our own authenticity, our journey of discovery unfolds in a playful and vibrant way.

Step by step, Paramjyoti introduces us to contemporary temple dance. Her school offers three paths, for which we will develop a sense this weekend:

• free movement from a heart-mind center
• spinning on one’s own axis
• dancing step sequences and circle dance formations

Breath is already movement; it is dance. Inspired by the connection with our breath, we allow the dance to unfold further. We bring this closeness to our breath into the preparatory exercises for the spinning dance and into the spinning dance ritual itself. The interplay between what arises in the mind and the form in which it is expressed comes to the fore. We pay attention to this interaction and explore it through gestures, step sequences, and geometric figures in space, especially the circle.

All three paths of the Infinite.dance School are keys to experiencing the expanses of one’s own consciousness and allowing our life dance to unfold from this place. They invite us to explore our own nature individually, while being supported by subtle group dynamics.

Prerequisites

Anyone can participate in this seminar, even without prior experience and regardless of physical fitness level or health condition.

The seminar offers insight into the three paths of Infinite.dance. Everyone is sure to get a sense of what it’s like to approach intuitive sacred dance with Paramjyoti, and whether they would most like to experience the next step through the spinning dance, through free movement in the “Dance Oracle,” or in “Mudra Mantra Mandala” to learn more about experiencing step sequences and choreographies within the group.

Target Audience

This seminar is designed for people who enjoy mindful movement, evocative music, spiritual focus and ecstasy, masterful poetry, communal singing, and the experience of dance. The seminar is equally suitable for beginners and advanced participants.

What to bring

Comfortable clothing. A water bottle if needed. Warm, well-fitting socks or dance shoes with leather soles, if you feel more comfortable in them. If you have a long, loose skirt, feel free to bring it along.
